To Work for LGBT Rights in Your Community
Andy and Ann have their roots in the grassroots of the LGBT and AIDS movements as well as other social justice movements going back to the 1970s. While we respect many of the professional people who work for funded LGBT and AIDS organization, we still believe the best way to move our communities forward on our issues is through volunteer efforts at the local level. If there is not an LGBT rights or AIDS advocacy organization in your community, think about getting one started by finding like-minded people where you live.
Our personal and collective participation in our movement is much more powerful than anything that our donations to state and national groups can accomplish. By all means, donate to the causes that you care about. But think about what you yourself can do to make things happen for the betterment of LGBT people and those with AIDS where you live.
